The 1500th Wonderful Dad is Kamil Spychała, an employee of KGHM’s division, the Polkowice Sieroszowice Mining Plant, who became the father of a girl, Róża.
“Miners, metallurgists, processors, rescuers, and specialists of all professions - this is the great resource of our company, and valuable resources should be taken care of and provided with conditions that will allow them to constantly develop. At KGHM, we make sure that our staff feels safe and supported, especially at crucial moments in their lives, and the birth of a child is definitely one of those moments,” said Mateusz Wodejko, the Vice President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
The “KGHM’s Wonderful Parents” program was launched in 2020. It is an expression of the company’s support for employees who are starting the demanding role of a parent. This is not only an expression of appreciation, but also a combination of responsibility for our employees and concern for their development, not only professionally.
As part of the program, each employee of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. to whom a child is born receives not only congratulations from the company, but also a special gift. The gift set for a Wonderful Mom and a Wonderful Dad includes a copper pendant on a silver chain, a thermos for the parent, a towel, a bodysuit, a cap with the KGHM logo for the baby, and vouchers for services provided by local businesses, including discounts on beauty services, a visit to a cafe, and invitations to gyms.
KGHM for families
The copper industry leader is also involved in a number of other family-friendly initiatives. Together with local governments, it runs the “Have a Family” social campaign to promote foster parenting, which has already succeeded in finding several dozens of parents for children in need. In addition, the company invites people to parenting competency workshops, which are attended by several hundred people each year.
A parent working at KGHM who wants to receive a gift should send an e-mail to csr@kghm.com and put the word “CHILD” in the title of the message.
