KGHM among the most attractive employers in Poland again

Friday, 20 June, 2025
In this year's edition of the prestigious Randstad Employer Brand Research survey, KGHM won the position of leader in the raw materials and fuels sector, while also being ranked among the most attractive employers in Poland. KGHM has for years been one of the best-rated employers in the country. It offers employees attractive employment conditions and professional development.

Key staff development

‘We are aware of the fact that employees are the key foundation of any company. Therefore, we make sure that work at KGHM is not only attractive financially, but also creates opportunities for development, meeting the highest standards in terms of working conditions and safety’, said Magdalena Lipińska, General Director for Human Resources Management at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. ‘KGHM continues to be the leading employer in the raw materials and fuels sector. As one of the few companies in Poland, we index wages every year and offer employees additional financial bonuses including Employee Pension Plans (EPPs), additional payments, profit award, jubilee awards, vacation benefits, school expenses allowance and retirement severance payment’, she added.

As the results of the Randstad survey show, KGHM is following the demands of the labour market, as evidenced by the changing culture of the organisation. The work culture at KGHM, which is different to that of many years ago, is influenced by a whole range of activities focused on the needs of both experienced employees and young people just beginning their career.

One of the company's priorities is to look after the development of its employees. At KGHM, the latest industry trends are monitored and employees are offered opportunities to improve their professional, managerial and specialist competencies. Employees therefore benefit, among other things, from subsidised higher education (including MBAs) and postgraduate studies. The company also provides training courses, both those required by specific regulations, such as in occupational safety and health, and training courses or examinations that allow them to have the qualifications necessary to hold specific jobs requiring specialised skills.

Attractive benefits package

In parallel, the company runs programmes dedicated to specific groups. One example is the CUdowni Rodzice programme, through which employees receive gift packages on the occasion of the birth of a child. There is also a thriving team of KGHM Volunteers, who organise blood donation campaigns, help the disabled, plant and clean forests and work for local communities. In 2024 alone, a total of 137 initiatives were organised. KGHM has also created a special sponsored class programme called ‘Competent in the Industry’ - an initiative for schoolchildren that provides a kind of bridge between education and business. The aim of the project is to provide access to specialised training in technical professions, thereby encouraging young people to join the KGHM team in the future. The programme also gives the young generation a chance to develop professionally by supporting their natural talents. In addition to professional development, KGHM supports its employees in terms of health care, both physical and mental.

KGHM's offer to employees includes comprehensive subscription-based medical care and group insurance. Employees also receive allowances for commuting to work, for recreational activities - both their own and their children's. They also have the opportunity to benefit from subsidised cinema or theatre tickets. Those taking up employment at KGHM can also count on sports packages, and employees with sufficient seniority, when required, can count on preventive medical holidays.

Randstad survey

Randstad Employed Brand Research is a representative employer brand survey based on the opinions of the general population. This year, 4,600 respondents from all over Poland took part in the survey, evaluating a total of 150 major companies. In Poland, the survey was first conducted 15 years ago, while globally it is 25 years old. The respondents included students as well as unemployed and employed people, and the predominant group was between 25 to 44 years old.

Reports from previous years show that certain trends in the labour market are slowly changing.
While the financial aspect and job stability matter to the majority of employees, with the entry of the new generation, areas are emerging that were not there before, and companies are trying to work on them. Respondents pay more attention to the scope of the tasks and responsibilities, i.e. interesting work content, providing equal opportunities, caring for the environment and social engagement.

Once again, the main strengths of KGHM mentioned by the respondents in the survey were the company's good financial situation, attractive remuneration, as well as non-wage benefits and employment stability. The majority of respondents recognised the openness to implement the latest technology and the good reputation of the company.
