During a meeting of the Medical Council, authorities from the world of science and medicine, and representatives of the management of KGHM looked at the current health situation in the Company. They also analysed a number of actions taken by management to calmly guide the company through the pandemic crisis. As the experts said, the Company passed the test.
"We are in a good position. We know the risks, but we also know that our actions are paying off. And these are measures developed also thanks to indications of experts of the Medical Council. We were ahead of everyone by appointing our Board even before the pandemic," said KGHM's Vice President for Development Adam Bugajczuk.
KGHM cares both for the health and safety of its employees and for production. Flexibility in action and consistency have ensured stable production.
"As one of the few companies in our sector, we have never for a moment stopped or reduced production. We are maintaining and strengthening our activities related to ensuring the safety of employees, and this translates into our results", emphasized the Vice President of the Copper Company and added that KGHM has actively joined the vaccination programme.
"KGHM is an example to others of what to do and how to act during the pandemic," said Professor Andrzej Horban. The Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister on COVID-19 pointed out that the implementation of the National Vaccination Programme is now crucial. "If people do not vaccinate against COVID-19, we will face another wave of epidemics in the autumn", he added.
The Medical Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. was established in 2019. It is composed of doctors, scientists and representatives of the management of KGHM. It supports and initiates all activities of KGHM and the KGHM Foundation in respect of broad local activities for the health of employees, the inhabitants of the Copper Belt and Dolnośląskie Voivodship.
