The competition gives credits for integrated reporting, which features not only financial data, but also information on the natural environment, local communities or corporate governance. The need to share this data is especially important in public companies, whose actions should be transparent. Therefore, apart from figures – such as incomes and profits in a given period – an integrated report provides readers with a condensed picture of the company’s impact on its stakeholders and of the value it is able to create.
“KGHM is a leader in carrying out transparent communication with its stakeholders, who include employees, local communities, regional and national authorities, and shareholders. This is proved not only by “The Best of The Best” award, which summarizes our long-time commitment to an integrated information policy, but also by our constant advancement in interactive reporting. It is especially important for KGHM, which is an innovative company aiming at both technological breakthroughs and enhancing the philosophy of doing business in Poland,” said Łukasz Stelmach, Executive Director and Chief Accountant at KGHM.
The best annual report competition, organized by the Polish Institute of Accounting and Taxes, was carried out for the tenth time in history. The awards gala took place on October 15, 2015 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. During the gala, the Polish National Chamber of Statutory Auditors granted a special award to Ludmiła Mordylak who served as the Chief Accountant at KGHM for many years and is now retired.
