GOLD FOR THE MANAGER

The President of Polska Miedź was awarded the highest laurel in the category "Executive of the Year - Metals & Mining". As emphasized by the organisers, the Stevie Awards, granted since 2002, is currently one of the most desirable awards in the world in the field of business. Its winners are individuals and companies from over 70 countries around the world. The aim of the competition is to honour and publicly recognise the achievements and positive contributions of organisations and business people around the world.

"The basis in turbulent times is a precisely defined vision, consistent management, but also attention and flexibility in action. We deserve this award for the fact that, day after day, together with the team of Polska Miedź, we are implementing the goals we set in the strategy for 2019 - 2023. The statuette is a symbolic recognition of our work on a new approach to trends and the demanding market in which we operate," stressed Marcin Chludziński, President of the Board of KGHM.

Over the past year, the Board of KGHM has been effectively implementing the assumptions of the new Company Strategy, focusing on increasing the efficiency of production and management processes and activities aimed at reducing production costs. Despite unfavourable macroeconomic conditions, for the first six months of this year, the company recorded solid increases in basic financial indicators compared to previous accounting periods. This year, the Copper Company and its Board have won numerous awards and distinctions in the area of management, support for Polish culture, and among others, reporting of results.

Gold Stevie is cast manually and finished in 24-carat gold. The crystal pyramid raised by Stevie represents a hierarchy of human needs. The system, often represented as a pyramid, was developed in the 20th century by the psychologist Abraham Maslow, who noted that once our basic needs have been met, we seek respect and recognition and strive for self-realisation. This is the sixteenth edition of The International Business Awards®, recognising achievements in various aspects of business.

APPRECIATED CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The bronze award for KGHM, granted for the entirety of the company's activities in the field of corporate social responsibility, is the culmination of a comprehensive programme carried out by Polska Miedź under the slogan "Good Neighbour".

In accordance with the assumptions of its strategy, the Board of KGHM pursues the policy of sustainable development, cooperating with the surrounding municipalities and supporting their development. The Copper Company employs residents of nearby localities, supports local sportsmen through sponsorship, and supports local governments and pro-social programmes they implement. In October this year, KGHM signed agreements with two municipalities: Legnica and Głogów, donating PLN 300 thousand to each of them for pro-health activities and programmes for the benefit of the inhabitants. Last year, over PLN 550 million in taxes and fees were paid by KGHM to local government units in the Copper Belt.

As part of its CSR policy, Polska Miedź implements and supports dozens of events and projects. The main pro-social programmes include activities under the Eco-Health action, School of Leadership of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. The "Guides" and the Copper Heart Volunteer Service.

Moreover, the company conducts extensive CSR activities through the activities of its Foundation, which financially supports selected projects in four areas: health and safety, sport and recreation, culture and tradition and science and education.

Confirmation of the highest standards of social responsibility applied on a daily basis in KGHM is the participation in a group of selected companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, which form the RESPECT Index. It distinguishes companies that are managed in a sustainable and responsible manner and, at the same time, emphasises their investment attractiveness. This includes the quality of reporting, the level of investor relations and compliance with corporate governance rules.
