Herbert Wirth has been the President of the Board of KGHM since 2009, he became a member of the company's Board a year earlier. He graduated from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, and in 2012, he obtained the degree of doctor habilitatus.

- Herbert Wirth is a person who is consistent in business, not afraid of decisions, risk and responsibility. What is more, he has many academic achievements in the fields of geology and investment processes - said Jacek Socha, the Deputy Chairman of PwC and the Chairman of the Award Committee, who spoke of the laureate.

- While chasing competitiveness, innovation that serves the human person is the most important thing. I would like to thank the Award Committee that they have noticed KGHM's significant influence also on the capital market - said Herbert Wirth.

The award is given by Lesław A. Paga Foundation, named after an economist, Chair of the Board of Deloitte & Touche Central Europe in 1999-2002, and the co-creator of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The idea behind the award is to show the role of the business visionaries in Polish economy and to promote organisational culture and management style based on best practices, high ethical standards and professionalism among Polish entrepreneurs. The award is given to business visionaries, economic, social and public activists, or institutions that are dynamic, effective, reliable and represent the highest ethical and professional standards.
