KGHM received the “The Best Of The Best” laurel for its annual report and two awards

The Institute of Accounting and Taxation gave its annual awards to companies preparing the best consolidated annual reports. One of the awardees is KGHM. Additionally, KGHM received a special award for The Best of The Best winner and for the 2022 Integrated Report.

During an official ceremony of the Institute of Accounting and Taxation held at the Warsaw Stock Exchange, KGHM was honored with the “The Best Of The Best” statuette, having received the highest score among the surveyed companies. This is the thirteenth ever award in this category for KGHM.

In addition, the Institute of Accounting and Taxation decided to give us two awards - a special award for “The Best of The Best” winners and an award “for the greatest progress in improving the Integrated Report.”

The Best Annual Report is a contest that promotes annual reports with the greatest utility for shareholders and investors. The participants are companies from all over Poland that prepare consolidated financial reports and meet the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the International Accounting Standards (IAS), as well as alternative market companies that reporting according to either the above Standards or the Polish Accounting Act.

The winners of “The Best Of The Best” awards are companies that consistently maintain a high level of quality in reporting and communication with the market and have won the first grand prize three times in all editions of the contest.

In addition to the Group’s performance and financial position, the Integrated Report for which KGHM received the award also covers activities including ethical, safety, and governance standards. It also presents in detail the ESG aspects and KGHM’s energy transition projects. It is worth noting that KGHM for the first time ever performed an analysis and presented in the Integrated Report the carbon and environmental footprint of some of its products. This is an important notification, especially for our customers.

As in any other year, the Integrated Report is available in Polish and English; what is new this year is that it also has a version in Spanish. For the sake of the natural environment, KGHM’s Integrated Report is not printed and is once again published in electronic form only.

The awards and prizes are given by the Chapter of the Institute of Accounting and Taxation, which includes Poland’s most prominent experts and practitioners in the fields of accounting, finance, and investor relations. The jury primarily takes into account those elements of reporting that are particularly valued by investors, e.g., the strategy and the forecasts, but also the conciseness, the logical layout, and the continuous improvement of the report.
