KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. with the Patron of Sports award

KGHM was awarded the Patron of Sports statuette at the 3rd Lubin Sports Gala. During the event, athletes, coaches and organisations supporting sports and promoting a healthy lifestyle in the Lubin district were awarded.

The 3rd Lubin Sports Gala was held on Thursday, 20 March 2025. The event brought together the best athletes, coaches and sports activists from the region to honour their outstanding achievements in 2024. In the Patron of Sport category, KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. was recognised.

KGHM has a sense of responsibility for the development of the region and undertakes many activities of a social nature, an important part of which is support for sports. We pursue this objective by sponsoring clubs and sports events, primarily in the Copper Belt and Lower Silesia.

In 2024, KGHM's expenditure in support of sports-related initiatives amounted to PLN 45 million and involved primarily the sponsorship of local clubs, including the football club Zagłębie Lubin S.A. (the Company is the sole owner of Zagłębie), KGHM MKS Zagłębie Lubin, KGHM SPR Chrobry Głogów (handball) and KGHM BC Polkowice (basketball). As part of its sponsorship activities, the Company also supports a number of sporting events, including cyclical events such as the Bieg Piastów in Jakuszyce (key sponsor) and Cross Straceńców in Głogów.

The award was received on the company’s behalf at a gala ceremony by Zbigniew Bryja, KGHM's Vice President for Development.
