‘As a WIG20 company, we attach particular importance to the quality and transparency of our communication with the market. The recognition of KGHM's financial reports in the past 15 years confirms our ongoing commitment to dialogue with their addressees, not only financial market participants’, said Piotr Krzyżewski, Vice President of the Management Board for Finance of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. ‘I am convinced that initiatives such as The Best Annual Report competition are extremely important for the development of the domestic capital market and the promotion of good practices in investor relations’, he added.
Among the best for years
For the 15th time in a row, KGHM was among the leaders in financial reporting with its success in The Best Annual Report competition. The company first won the prestigious title 'The Best of The Best' in 2010, which was the crowning achievement in its commitment and success in the years 2007-2009. Since then, KGHM has consistently maintained a high level of reporting and has been recognised by the Chapter, made up of Poland's most eminent experts and practitioners in accounting and finance. The main objective of the competition is to promote best market practices in financial reporting, thereby increasing the security of the capital market in Poland.
With stakeholders in mind
The Best Annual Report is a competition that promotes annual reports with the greatest usefulness for shareholders and investors. Every year, the competition involves companies from the regulated market preparing consolidated annual reports according to the IFRS/IAS and companies from the alternative market reporting according to the IFRS/IAS or the Accounting Act. The Chapter, composed of market experts, evaluates the reports not only for compliance with reporting rules, but also for the quality of the information provided to the market. The key elements are the description of the risks and the brevity and clarity of the data presented.
The winner of 'The Best of The Best' award is a company that has won the grand prize in at least three editions of The Best Annual Report competition and maintains a high level of quality in reporting and communication with the market.
