KGHM named the Ambassador of the Polish Economy by the “Wprost” weekly

KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. is the winner of the “Polish Ambassadors 2023” ranking, and the Company’s CEO Tomasz Zdzikot is the winner of a special award in the “Ambassador of the Polish Business 2023” category of the “Wprost” weekly.

“This year's winner is a true gem of the Polish economy. In the recently published World Silver Survey, it ranked first in the category of the world’s largest silver mines. Not many people know this, but Poland is a power in the mining market not only for copper, but also for silver. Last year, the company generated nearly PLN 34 billion in revenue. More than three-quarters of this amount came from exports. The winner of the Ambassadors’ ranking is KGHM Polska Miedź,” this is how the journalists of the “Wprost” weekly justified KGHM’s selection as Ambassador of the Polish Economy.

Also honored at the official gala at the Warsaw Stock Exchange was KGHM’s CEO Tomasz Zdzikot, who received a special award in the “Ambassador of the Polish Business 2023” category.

“It is a company that is very local in Poland, but it is also one of the most global Polish companies. We are the ambassador of Poland, the ambassador of the Polish business. This is a great honor for me and for the entire KGHM staff,” said Tomasz Zdzikot, the CEO of KGHM Polska Miedź.

The gala for the winners of the rankings of the 200 largest companies, the Cheetahs, and the Ambassadors of the Polish business of the “Wprost” weekly magazine was organized on June 13 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. During the event, statuettes were presented to the winners of the rankings of the Polish Two Hundred, i.e., the 200 largest Polish companies, the Cheetahs, and the Ambassadors of the Polish business. The list of the 200 largest Polish companies has been published by “Wprost” since 2015.
