KGHM distinguished for its Social Report

KGHM distinguished for its Social Report

Wednesday, 05 October, 2016

The organizers of the competition emphasize that companies are more and more willing to create integrated reports, meaning that they report on their financial and non-financial details in one publication, based on international guidelines. Wishing to improve the credibility of their non-financial or integrated reports, the companies seek external data verification. More importantly, more and more organizations consider corporate social responsibility (CSR) as an integral part of their strategies.

‘How much carbon dioxide does the company emit during the year? How many training hours does it ensure for an employee? What does the company do to be a good neighbour? These are only some information and data that you can find in social reports. For the past 10 years we have awarded those that had been drawn up in the best way, that had been the most comprehensive, reliable, and communicative,’ said Mirella Panek-Owsiańska, the President of the Responsible Business Forum at the beginning of the meeting.

The Social Reports competition has been held since 2007 and is intended to spread the idea of non-financial reporting and to promote good practices in this respect. The competition jury appreciates the companies that enter into dialogue with the stakeholders and that present their achievements in their reports in a clear, transparent, and reliable way.

‘KGHM Polska Miedź has been reporting on its non-financial details for the past six years. This distinction proves that we are doing it in line with the highest global standards. I am very proud of the fact that the jury appreciated our Company. I would like to emphasize that this is first and foremost a joint success of the employees of KGHM Polska Miedź and KGHM International,’ said Krzysztof Skóra, President of KGHM Polska Miedź.
