KGHM awarded the " Large Family Friendly Company 2020" prize

The "Large Family Friendly Company 2020" award was received on Saturday, 1 August, on behalf of the Company, by Marcin Chludziński, President of the Board of KGHM. The distinction was awarded by the Association of Large Families 3 Plus, the organiser of the annual Congress of Large Families.

The award recognises CSR activities, including KGHM's initiatives for families in the Copper Belt. The latest undertakings of KGHM introduced at the initiative of its President Marcin Chludziński include:

 'Wonder Parents' Action - with a special gift with a copper accent and individualised congratulations from the Board to KGHM employees on the occasion of the birth of their child.

 Parents' Libraries - created in KGHM departments - with inspiring books on raising children.

The series of lectures and workshops improving educational competences for KGHM employees.

'Two Hours for Family' Action, which message is to draw attention to the value of family relations. In 2020, all the Departments and eighteen companies of the KGHM Capital Group took part in the event - the employees, among others, received gadgets to spend time actively with their families.

The 'Copper Family' Action, for foster parenthood, which seeks out foster parents for disadvantaged children in the region.

In addition, as part of its support for the local community, KGHM initiates and finances, among other things, prevention programmes in schools, while cooperating with experts and non-governmental organisations. The programmes are aimed not only at pupils, but also at parents and teachers. Only in 2019:

- 2,000 pupils from nearly 20 schools were covered by prevention activities of proven effectiveness, and almost 1,500 pupils took part in innovative research on their problems and needs,

- 900 teachers took part in training courses, - 850 parents in workshops and lectures on educational topics,

- 1200 family members have received therapy and counselling,

- 400 local government officials and officials took part in expert workshops, trainings and conferences on social issues, including family issues, financed by KGHM.

In its pro-family activities, KGHM also conducts intensive dialogue with local governments. Under this cooperation, 30 January 2020. KGHM and representatives of municipalities in the region signed a Declaration for a family in the Copper Belt, which was a confirmation of the implementation of joint projects and a promise of their constant expansion.
