"This award is confirmation that our commitment to programmes and projects that benefit the workforce and the region is going in the right direction. We pursue a CSR policy in line with high standards, many of which we set for other Polish companies. The questionnaires completed by our employees show that they appreciate these activities of their employer," emphasised Magdalena Wróbel, Chief Human Resources Officer.
KGHM conducts CSR programmes independently and in cooperation with local governments and non-governmental organisations. Original projects initiated by the Management Board of KGHM include the Wonderful Parents package for new parents, creation of Parent's Libraries with books on family issues and raising children available to everyone. An application "naMIEDZI" was also created to promote visits to the region. Among other things, workshops are organised for fathers, and foster parenting is supported through the "Copper Family" programme.
"I observe with great satisfaction how year after year KGHM consistently builds and implements such a long-term policy of supporting its employees and their families in the entire social ecosystem. These activities are consistent with our "Village" Model philosophy and based on the best global examples. KGHM often sets these benchmarks itself and shares them with the market and the environment in which it operates. An example is the annual 'Have an Impact' Conference. These initiatives were the basis for the distinction awarded by the Humanites Institute to KGHM in the Family Friendly Company/Human Friendly Company 2020 competition," emphasised Zofia Dzik.
Joint projects with local governments
KGHM supports and cooperates with local governments. It funds family counselling, child-raising skills workshops for parents and teachers, prevention programmes in schools and diagnostic tests on young people, so that we know what the potential, problems, protective factors and risk factors are in the community.
There are projects with a strong family-oriented emphasis, e.g. "Health - it runs in the family", "City Volunteering" or support for senior citizens during the pandemic.
