Wednesday, 16 October, 2019

The Best Annual Report is a competition that promotes annual reports with the highest utility value for shareholders and investors. It is attended by companies from all over Poland which prepare consolidated financial statements meeting the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS) and companies from the alternative market, reporting in accordance with the above standards or the Accounting Act.

Awards and distinctions are granted by the Chapter of the Accounting and Tax Institute, which includes the most outstanding Polish experts and practitioners in the field of accounting, finance and investor relations. Evaluators take into account primarily those elements of reporting which are particularly valued by investors, such as strategy, forecasts, but also conciseness, logical arrangement or progression.

The winner of The Best Of The Best award is a company which consistently maintains a high level of quality in reporting and communication with the market and which has won the first prize three times in all editions of the competition.

"We put a lot of work into maintaining the highest level of reporting and accounting, ensuring transparency of our activities and open communication with stakeholders. The title "The Best of The Best" is a recognition of our efforts by the Competition Chapter. The award is all the more valuable because the level of the competition is regularly rising and more and more companies are taking part in it, and they are continuing their efforts to improve the financial reporting system," said Katarzyna Kreczmańska-Gigol, Vice-President of the Board of KGHM for Financial Affairs.

The reporting process at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. takes place on an annual basis. The Consolidated Annual Report includes both financial data and non-financial information concerning, among others, employee safety and environmental protection.

The Sustainable Report includes content in the scope and layout based on the Integrated Reporting guidelines recommended by the International Integrated Reporting. When drawing up the document, analysis was conducted of files, policies, due diligence procedures, risk management principles and other information materials related to the activities of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. as well as to the mining and smelting industry.

Acting with respect for the environment and natural resources, KGHM resigned from the paper version of the Sustainable Report for 2018 by issuing an online document. The mobile publication of the report allows the reader to generate their own content, the financial data has interactive functions and the text fonts have a three-fold zoom function.
