KGHM volunteers from the Ore Enrichment Plants division, together with representatives of the town of Lubin and two special schools, organised the Integration Sports Olympics in Lubin. The competitors were disabled pupils from the School and Educational Centre in Szklary Górne.

In total, nearly 200 students took part in the event. They competed in 10 events, including shot on goal, bowling, javelin throw or slalom with a ball.

Volunteers from the Ore Enrichment Plant prepared the event from start to finish. They designed and made the professional Olympic torch, which burned throughout the competition. They were responsible for the preparation of the competitions and their smooth running. It was also in their hands to decorate the winners. All with a smile on their faces, although there was no shortage of emotion among the competitors. The Olympics for disabled children was one of the events of the 25th anniversary of this division of KGHM.

"The most important message of our Olympiad is the slogan: you are all winners'. It was about coming together, spending time together and not competing. Sport is the best medicine and a field that evokes only positive emotions. Our competition was a competition for several hundred open hearts and will leave unforgettable memories," says Aneta Zagórska-Kot, one of KGHM's volunteers.

KGHM employees from the Ore Enrichment Plants division are one of KGHM's strongest volunteer teams. Amongst other things, the group is involved in educational activities for the youngest inhabitants of the Copper Belt. During lessons in kindergartens, volunteers talk about copper mining and the history of KGHM. They also look after and support the Bajka orphanage in Lubin in their daily duties.

Ore Enrichment Plants - located between the mine and the smelter, are the link connecting the entire technological process in KGHM. Their function is to enrich the copper ores extracted from the mining divisions of KGHM. The process of mechanical processing enables the extracted ore to be effectively processed before it is further processed in the smelter. The technology used in the Ore Enrichment Plants in Poland allows for the exceptionally effective recovery of copper and silver and other elements from the extracted ore.

The branch consists of three regions, located at the Lubin, Polkowice-Sieroszowice and Rudna mine shafts.
