Prevention programmes, trainings, guidebooks – KGHM, together with the local government of Legnica, organised the 2nd Conference "Together for the Family – recommended prevention programmes and support measures for the inhabitants of the Copper Belt".
The conference was attended by local government officials, school principals, educators and NGO representatives from all over the region. Discussions focused, among other things, on challenges in education, but also on recommended programmes for children, young people and families in the Copper Belt. The initiatives carried out jointly by municipalities, towns and KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. were summarised.
KGHM presented its current offer for schools and local governments under the Company's pro-social initiatives. The copper company co-finances diagnostic tests for teenagers, prevention programmes "Szkoła Rodziców i Wychowawców", "Akademia Przywództwa Liderów Oświaty" and guidebooks "Dzieci w wirtualnej sieci".
The ongoing project relating to the issue of depression "W depresji nie jesteś sam" was also discussed. People living in the Copper Belt can receive free counselling from psychologists, take part in support group meetings and training sessions for teachers and youth workers.
