The participants of the Olympics competed in 10 events, including shots into the goal, basket throws, bowling, javelin throw and slalom with a ball. The slogan of the competition is ‘You are all Winners’ and its main focus is spending time actively rather than competing. This year, the event is linked to the 40th anniversary of the Lubin Sports Centre.
Volunteers from the Ore Enrichment and Concentrator Plants and KGHM’s head office, a total of around 30 people, as well as representatives of the Sports Centre took care of the organisation of the event from the preparation of the Olympic torch to the preparation and running of all the competitions. They also took care of the decoration of the participants.
Ore Enrichment and Concentrator Plants are the link that binds all elements of the technological process at KGHM. Their purpose is to enrich the copper ores mined in the mining divisions. The mechanical processing makes the mined ore more suitable for further processing in a smelter. The technology used at the Ore Enrichment and Concentrator Plants in Poland allows for an extremely effective extraction of copper, silver and other elements from the mined ore.
The division consists of three processing plants: Lubin, Polkowice and Rudna, located next to the mine shafts.
