The Antonov An-225 Mrija, the world's largest transport plane, will bring to Poland the necessary means to fight the coronavirus. Its cargo hold will contain 7 million P2 type masks, several hundred thousand protective overalls and several hundred thousand visors.

The shipment was prepared by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and Lotos S.A. at the request of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

"Our international long-standing business relations and the strong attitude of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki allow us to efficiently purchase and transport personal protective equipment and medical devices. This is a commodity sought after all over the world," said Marcin Chludzinski, President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedz S.A.

This will be yet another shipment carried out at the request of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. "The first plane landed on 26 March. The total value of medical supplies which we have already purchased is about USD 15 million," said the President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Marcin Chludziński. "They are all at the disposal of the government, which distributes them according to needs."
