KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. supports border guards and the Polish army who defend Polish borders – among other things, thermo-active clothing, powerbanks, torches, hand warmers and food products have been donated to the uniformed personnel.
– Today it is very important to support those who bravely defend our borders - as KGHM we have been providing the Border Guard and the Polish Army with thermal sweatshirts, torches, hand warmers, thermo-active underwear and powerbanks for three weeks. Thank you for your service! – said Marcin Chludziński, President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
In this manner, KGHM is responding to the call made by Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin, who called for solidarity and assistance for the officers stationed on the border with Belarus.
KGHM's support was provided to the 15th Giżycko Mechanised Brigade. The border guards received several thousand hand warmers, thermal mugs, powerbanks, torches, food products, as well as thermo-active underwear and sweatshirts.
KGHM actively engages in aid campaigns across the country. From the beginning of the pandemic, the company has been supporting the government's actions, e.g. by preparing two temporary hospitals in Lower Silesia or providing sanitary supplies to medical facilities, local government institutions and social welfare homes. The copper company helped the elderly as part of the Solidarity Senior Support Service. On an ongoing basis, through the KGHM Foundation we subsidise non-governmental organisations working for the benefit of local communities.
