The current pandemic situation, a possible increase in the number of flu cases, and preventive measures - KGHM representatives and experts from the fields of science and medicine summarized KGHM’s health-promoting projects to date. The Medical Council met at the KGHM’s headquarters in Warsaw.

“Thank you for your involvement so far, and please continue to provide your valuable recommendations. The Medical Council’s recommendations for KGHM’s activities are strategically important to us. We know how to respond to challenges and prevent risks as much as possible,” said Tomasz Zdzikot, acting CEO of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

During the meeting, the National Consultant for Infectious Diseases, Prof. Andrzej Horban reported that we continue to record cases of coronavirus infections in Poland and, on top of that, we are in the middle of the flu season. Priority is currently given to both COVID-19 and flu vaccination.

The experts also emphasized KGHM’s role as a responsible employer in Poland. For many years, the company has been running programs and projects aimed at keeping KGHM at the forefront of worker health and safety.

The Medical Council of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. was established in 2019. Its members are physicians and scientists from major research centers in Warsaw, Szczecin, Łódź, and Wrocław, among other cities. The Council supports and initiates all the campaigns of KGHM and the KGHM Foundation that involve extensive local activities aimed at improving the health of KGHM employees and residents of the Copper Belt and the Dolnośląskie Province.
