Kitco has summarised the work of the world's 10 largest mining companies based on copper production results for the first quarter of this year. Marcin Chludziński, President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., emphasises that this list confirms that the company has set the directions of its development very well, taking care of both employee safety and responsible production.
On 17 August this year, KGHM reported financial and production results for the first half of 2021. The copper giant recorded a twofold increase in adjusted EBIDTA for the Group, 8.6 per cent higher payable copper production and an more than 30 per cent increase in Group revenue compared to the first half of the previous year.
Payable copper production by KGHM Group in six months was as high as 381 thousand tonnes. In turn, payable copper production at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. increased by 4.4% compared to the same period in 2020, and amounted to 293 thousand tonnes.
In April this year, in another ranking by kitco.com, KGHM was named the world's largest silver mine for 2020.
