Public consultations on the sites near the “Głogów” Copper Smelter and Refinery

KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., “Głogów” Copper Smelter and Refinery Division, in connection with the commencement of the procedure for drawing up a forest management plan for forests owned by the State Treasury and held in perpetual usufruct by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., “Głogów” Copper Smelter and Refinery Division and a simplified forest management plan for forests owned by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., “Głogów” Copper Smelter and Refinery Division would like to invite the local community, including local governments, individuals, and local organizations interested in forest management issues with increased social function to participate in the consultations within Local Cooperation Teams (LCTs).

The team will be established at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., “Głogów” Copper Smelter and Refinery Division.

The task of the Local Cooperation Teams will be to carry out consultations on the draft location of areas of increased social function and to give an opinion on how to proceed in these areas in connection with the preparation of the draft Forest Management Plan and Simplified Forest Management Plan for the forests of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., “Głogów” Copper Smelter and Refinery Division. In particular, the LCTs will prepare opinions on:

a) the assumptions for the draft forest management plan;

b) proposals to distinguish areas of special importance to the local community;

c) needs in terms of development for tourism purposes.

Membership in an LCT is voluntary and involves no costs. By sending an application (an application form is attached), you agree to participate in the work of an LCT.

The first meeting of the Local Cooperation Team will be held during the Management Meeting planned on March 26, 2023.
