KGHM ZANAM wins on the Russian market again

More mining machines manufactured by KGHM ZANAM S.A. - one of the largest companies in the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group - will be supplied to the mines of the Russian combine PAO Gaiski GOK (Ural Mining and Smelting Combine). The offer submitted by ZANAM VOSTOK (a subsidiary of KGHM ZANAM S.A. operating in the Russian Federation) in the tender for the supply of a total of 13 machines has again proved to be the best. This is the second tender on the Russian market won by the Polkowice company in 2021.

As a result of the tender procedure won by KGHM ZANAM S.A., the Company will supply 13 mining machines to the mines of the PAO Gaiski GOK combine between 2022 and 2023. These will be loaders of the type ŁK-1M. Delivery of the first three machines is scheduled for 2022, with a further nine scheduled for 2023.

The tender won is another export success of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group on the Russian market. In June this year, ZANAM VOSTOK (a subsidiary of KGHM ZANAM S.A.), a company operating in the Russian Federation, won a tender for the supply of 12 specialist machines: 11 ŁK-1M loaders and one SWW-1/1H drilling rig. Following the signing of the contract on the basis of the last tender won, the number of mining machines contracted by the Russian combine PAO Gaiski GOK will be 25. All will be delivered in the period up to 2023.

The series of successes of KGHM ZANAM S.A. on the Russian market did not, however, begin only in this year. In February 2019, ZANAM VOSTOK signed a contract with a Russian contractor for the delivery of nine LK-1M loaders. Another contract - this time for the delivery of six ŁK-1M loaders and four SWT-3K transport vehicles - was signed in May 2020.

"Since 2019, the Russian contractor has already ordered a total of 39 LK-1M loaders. We can therefore confidently state that this equipment is an export hit for KGHM ZANAM S.A. Another order from the same partner proves that our company offers not only a competitive price, but also a professional package of services supporting machine operation", says Bernard Cichocki, President of the Management Board of KGHM ZANAM S.A. "Our other products are also very popular on foreign markets, e.g. in Germany. We therefore intend to intensify our commercial activities, as each successive contract translates into increasingly better financial results for our company. Thanks to the contracts acquired, we are also increasing orders at companies in our supply chain, including companies in the KGHM Group," adds Bernard Cichocki.

KGHM ZANAM S.A. also is a strong player on the German market. For several years, the Company has cooperated with the mining holding K+S AG. The German contractor's confidence in Polkowice products is demonstrated by the latest order from April 2020. Then the K+S AG holding ordered 13 wheel-articulated loaders.
