KGHM with a Golden Card for 2025-2026. Once again, the Central Institute for Labour Protection - National Research Institute awarded our Company for its efforts to promote employee safety and health. KGHM is the only representative of the underground mining and metal processing sector in the distinguished group.
During this year’s 27th Conference of the Safe Work Leaders Forum, the Central Institute for Labour Protection - National Research Institute (CIOP-PIB) honoured companies that set the highest standards in the field of employee safety and health. The awards are given to companies that not only meet all legal requirements, but also take proactive measures to improve working conditions. Among other things, the number of accidents, innovative safety solutions, cooperation with scientists and educational activities are assessed.
In this edition, activities for safety and working conditions at KGHM were once again recognised. KGHM enters the new year with another Golden Card, and the company is the only representative of the underground mining and metal processing sector in this group.
‘The measures we take in terms of safety go well beyond those required by law. Education plays an important role in this, as an informed worker is a safe worker. KGHM’s staff was recognised once again, as daily adherence to health and safety principles by every employee contributes to building a safe working environment’, said Mirosław Laskowski, KGHM’s Deputy CEO in charge of production.
KGHM received its first Safe Work Leader Card as early as 2000 and its first Gold Card in 2002. Since then, the Company has continuously maintained its position as a leader in safe working practices.
The Leaders’ Forum, which has been operating since 1998, currently brings together 184 companies that share common values and aim to continuously improve the way they manage occupational safety and raise the level of their safety culture. Membership in the Forum demonstrates a commitment to a safe and healthy working environment.
