KGHM receives the Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland in the category of International Success

KGHM received the Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland in the category of International Success - Marcin Chludziński, the President of the Management Board of the copper giant, accepted the award from the hands of Andrzej Duda at the gala in Rzeszów. The company was honoured, among other things, for promoting a positive image of Poland abroad.

The International Success category relates to companies or institutions which achieve sustained growth, comply with the principles of responsible business and serve as role models for other companies. The nomination of the copper Company for the award was submitted by the Employers' Association of Polska Miedź.

– I do not hesitate to say that this has been a very good year for KGHM. We continue to be among the top mining companies in the entire world. For the first time in history, half a billion Polish zlotys came to Poland directly from our foreign assets, in particular from the Sierra Gorda mine. We are reaching for new technologies and bravely embracing the challenges related to transformation. This is the result of the hard work of the entire team. We lead the rankings and maintain and strengthen the Group's solid value. We are not going to give up the leader's position to anyone in this marathon. New projects await us, including small nuclear reactors. The award of the President confirms our significant, positive impact both on the Polish and global economy – said Marcin Chludziński, the President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

The nomination of the copper Company for the award was submitted by the Employers' Association of Polska Miedź. In the statement, the organisation emphasised that "KGHM, by conducting business activity on four continents, is an excellent ambassador for the Polish economy. Knowledge and cooperation, sustainable development and CSR – these are the business pillars which have led the company to an international success."

The Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland is granted by the Head of State once a year. It represents a valuable and prestigious award for Polish enterprises and scientific and research institutes.

The award is granted to companies which contribute to the development of the national economy, respect the principles of responsible business, promote a positive image of Poland and serve as a role model for other companies. Theis award is also granted to research teams and scientific units which implement a product or technological innovation.
