KGHM provides 20,000 litres of disinfectant

The KGHM Polska Miedź Foundation is donating 20 thousand litres of Nitrosept disinfectant to hospitals, hospices and other medical facilities throughout Poland. The first donations of the liquid produced by a company from the KGHM Group have already been made to the staffs of medical institutions.

This is part of the assistance in counteracting the spread of the coronavirus in Poland. KGHM is responding to requests for support in stopping the epidemic on an ongoing basis. To date, KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., together with companies from the KGHM Group, has been involved, among others, in the production of disinfectants (a special production line has been launched by NITROERG, producing the Nitrosept liquid) and the production of masks and protective aprons (KGHM ZANAM). The KGHM Foundation has supported, among others, the purchase of ventilators.

The first of the transports with medical equipment purchased by KGHM in China has also arrived in Poland. The Lubin-based company has purchased medical equipment worth more than USD 15 million in total. In total, 600,000 medical masks, over 250,000 pairs of overalls, tens of thousands of pairs of protective goggles and about 150 ventilators will be transported. The equipment, which is ultimately to be delivered to hospitals, clinics and other sanitary facilities, will be placed at the disposal of the Ministry of Health, which will decide its exact purpose.
