KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., a global leader in the mining industry, has published its Integrated Report for the fifth time. The document provides a full analysis of the company’s achievements over the past year.

“The solid production and financial results generated in 2022, which was a difficult year, make it possible to look at the next few years with optimism. We have ambitious plans and investment projects - we have assumed a record level of capital expenditures for 2023. At KGHM, we uniquely combine economic and financial performance with respect for the environment and partner relations with our stakeholders,” wrote Tomasz Zdzikot, the CEO of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., in the introduction of the document.

The main slogan of the report, “Stability and development,” describes KGHM’s achievements in operations, progress in implementing the Strategy, environmental activities, cooperation with local communities, management standards, and many other areas. The document is a cross-sectional analysis of the company’s strategic vision and the Company’s values, and a response to the needs of the Stakeholders.

In addition to the Group’s performance and financial position, KGHM’s Integrated Report also covers activities including ethical, safety, and governance standards. It also presents in detail the ESG aspects and KGHM’s energy transition projects. It is worth noting that KGHM for the first time ever performed an analysis and disclosed the carbon and environmental footprint of some of its products. This is an important notification, especially for our customers.

The company ensures the security of supply of metals necessary for the global transition by accessing primary copper deposits. At the same time, it develops the goals of the circular economy and increases the use of recycled materials. In response to global sustainability challenges, the Company has adopted an ambitious Climate Policy in which it declared that it will achieve climate neutrality by 2050. An additional confirmation that KGHM is developing its operations in a sustainable manner is the receipt of the prestigious certificate and the right to use The Copper Mark by another division of the Company - the Cedynia Copper Smelter. As a result, all of KGHM’s metallurgical plants located in Poland can boast holding this prestigious certificate.

Of note is the fact that KGHM has for years been among the companies that report their activities the best. The Institute of Accounting and Taxation has recognized the leader of the copper industry several times in “The Best Annual Report” competition, which promotes annual reports with the greatest utility for shareholders and investors. Companies from all over the country that prepare consolidated financial reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS) take part in that competition.

As in any other year, the Integrated Report is available in Polish and English; what is new this year is that it also has a version in Spanish.

For the sake of the natural environment, KGHM’s Integrated Report is not printed and is once again published in electronic form only.
