The global mining sector leader became once again the sponsor of one of Poland’s most important cultural institutions, the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The cooperation of the institutions began in 2019 and they have jointly carried out a number of artistic and historical events since then.

“KGHM is the leader of the Polish economy and a strategic state-owned company. We understand our role and are able to share our successes. The Royal Castle in Warsaw holds a special place in the history of our homeland. It is a symbol of our strength and national pride. We are linked by very fruitful cooperation and further projects with the common goal of caring for Poland’s culture and history,” said Tomasz Zdzikot, the CEO of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

Wojciech Fałkowski, the director of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, emphasized that KGHM’s patronage over the past years has allowed the institution to implement many initiatives. “KGHM has given us a chance to intensify our activities and popularize national culture. The company’s involvement is an invaluable help, but also means partnership-based relations and joint plans for, among other things, the purchase of the most valuable works of art,” said Prof. Wojciech Fałkowski.

KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. has been actively participating in significant projects in the area of culture and art for many years. It sponsors institutions and events - festivals and film and theater productions - locally, nationally, and internationally alike. The company’s support for the national heritage is also carried out through the operation of the KGHM Foundation.

Last year, it was through the Foundation that KGHM was one of the founders for the purchase of Canaletto’s “Equestrian Portrait of Page Gintowt” painting, which became a part of the collection of the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
