Innovation fuels KGHM’s growth - Invention Exchange for the company’s employees was launched

Tuesday, 12 November, 2024
KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. is once again opening the door to innovation and appreciation of its employees - a new edition of the Invention Exchange has been launched, which is an opportunity to submit creative ideas that have a real impact on the development of technology and the improvement of working conditions. Proposals can be submitted until 29 November this year.

Your idea can change the future

KGHM relies on innovation to increase productivity and safety at work. Employees can submit new technical or technical and organisational solutions to the Invention Exchange. These can be technical solutions in areas ranging from mining technology to the organisation of the working environment.

Innovation - the main direction for KGHM

‘In view of KGHM's vision of development and the associated need to adapt to changing conditions and technologies, every innovative solution that allows for a step forward, for the progress we are so keen to make, is most welcome. Tor a company like KGHM, modern technology is undoubtedly an indispensable element. I hope that this year’s edition of the Invention Exchange will abound in such solutions,’ says Zbigniew Bryja, KGHM’s Vice-President of the Management Board for Development.

How can one become an innovator?

Participation in KGHM’s Invention Exchange is easy: simply download an application form, fill it in and hand it in by one of several methods - in person at the company’s division, by dropping it in a box, or directly to the Department of Innovation and Protection of Intellectual Property.

Submitted ideas that have already changed KGHM

In previous editions, employees submitted solutions that were successfully applied in KGHM divisions. One of them is the 'Rope Tensioner' design by Dariusz Husak of the Polkowice-Sieroszowice Mining Facility Division, which has increased the safety of assembly work. Another innovative idea was the 'CATEYE light holder for the JSP EVO3 helmet' by Jakub Haliniak from the Lubin Mining Facility Division, which improved workers' visibility. This design has even been filed as a Community design for protection at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

You submit - you win

A positively evaluated design may not only be applied in the company, but also has the chance of receiving a financial award. Invention designs can be submitted in KGHM throughout the year, but those submitted as part of the Invention Exchange allow for winning an additional prize.
