Modern treatment and hotel facilities, a swimming pool with thermal water, and restaurant facilities - the Cieplice Health Resorts has begun construction of the Health Resort Thermal Baths, a modern facility for patients from all over Poland. The investment project will cost more than PLN 60 million and will be completed in early 2025.
Earthworks and geological surveys are currently underway at the site to prepare the area for the start of the construction of the foundations of the new facility. Work is also being done to secure the foundation of the Spring House, which will be connected to the Health Resort Thermal Baths. A therapeutic water intake and a storage tank located on the site are also being secured.
“KGHM is a world leader in mining and a pillar of the Polish economy, but it also has another strong foundation. It is the operations of the companies of the KGHM Group. This investment project is the result of our strategy that is based on sustainability, innovation, and new business directions. The Cieplice Health Resort is part of the history of this region, and today we can proudly say that this history is gaining momentum - an investment project worth more than PLN 60 million is a symbol of KGHM’s commitment to the health and well-being of the people of Lower Silesia,” said Marek Pietrzak, KGHM’s vice president for corporate affairs.
Roman Kulczycki, the president of the Cieplice Health Resort, added that the investment project is intended primarily to create modern treatment and rehabilitation facilities. “The Health Resort Thermal Baths will strengthen our image as a professional medical entity, which will certainly translate into increased interest among patients. The new facility will be comfortable in terms of both medical treatment and catering,” said Roman Kulczycki, the president of the Management Board of Uzdrowisko Cieplice Sp. z o.o. - PGU Group.
The Health Resort Thermal Baths will be built on the back of the Spring House and will be connected to it. Patients, will be able to use the modern facility without having to go outside. The project includes a modern treatment facility and a 95-square-meter swimming pool with therapeutic thermal water. A spa area will also be created. The building will provide 176 beds, and a conference room and restaurant are also planned. Parking spaces will be located on the ground floor of the facility. The facility’s high four-star standard will ensure a comfortable stay for patients.
The plan is for the new facility to use renewable energy sources in the form of thermal water. The water will be used not only for balneological purposes, but also as domestic hot water and, through a set of heat exchangers, for heating the building.
Interested patients, including those paying for their own stay, are expected to be attracted to the new Health Resort Thermal Baths by its professional staff and therapeutic treatments. The Health Resort intends to expand its treatment offerings using the experience and knowledge of its employees.
The press conference was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Member of Parliament Marzena Machałek, and Senator Krzysztof Mróz.
